Stafford Badminton Club Rules
1. TITLE - The Club shall be known as the Stafford Badminton Club.
2. OBJECTIVES (a) To arrange facilities for the game.
(b) To adopt the laws of Badminton and any regulations which may be approved by the Badminton Association of England and ask the Club members if we wish to be affiliated to the B A of E.
The Club shall be managed by a General Committee consisting of Chairman, Hon Secretary, Hon Treasurer, Hon Match Secretary and three members of the club.
The Officers and other General committee members shall be elected by the members present at each Annual General Meeting.
If a vacancy occurs amongst the General Committee during the year, the General Committee shall arrange for the vacancy to be filled.
General Committee Meetings shall be held at such times and places as it may decide.
A quorum of the General Committee shall be four.
4. TEAM SELECTION
At the beginning of each season the teams will be selected by the General Committee. Any alterations to the teams will be the responsibility of the General Committee.
5. GENERAL MEETINGS
The Hon Secretary shall give to all members at least 14 days written notice of all General Meetings. The quorum of a General Meeting shall be 25% of the membership of the Club. All full members shall have the right to vote at a General Meeting. The Club shall hold a General Meeting during the closed season.
The terms of any motion to be put to a General Meeting shall be in the hands of the Hon Secretary at least 7 days before the day of the meeting. A special General Meeting shall be called at any time within 14 days of the receipt by the Hon Secretary of:-
A request in writing signed by at least 6 members of the club, stating fully the reason for the request.
A request by the General Committee.
6. MEMBERSHIP categories�.
Intermediate member: - a player who is 16 and over at the commencement of each season, in full time education not in receipt of a grant nor other monies at the time of application.
Junior member � a player whose age is under 16 years at the commencement of each season.
7. PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS
Acceptance of prospective members shall be at the discretion of the General Committee.
8. SUBSCRIPTION AND MATCH FEES
These shall be decided by the General Committee. Junior membership subscriptions will be at the discretion of the Committee. Prospective members shall pay the nightly visitors� fee until accepted by the Committee for membership, when they should pay the balance of their subscription. Occasional members will pay a pro rata subscription. All subscriptions shall be due on or before 1st October for the current season.
9. RESIGNATION OF MEMBERS
The General Committee shall have the power to remit the whole or any portion of subscription of any player having to resign from the Club.
10. CONDUCT OF MEMBERS AND ORDER OF PLAY
The General Committee shall have the power to make and enforce any regulations that may be considered necessary to ensure proper behaviour and dress of members and order of play. It is also empowered to expel or suspend any member in breach of the Club rules.
11. COMPLAINTS AND SUGGESTIONS.
Any complaints or suggestions shall be made in writing to the Hon Secretary who shall submit them to the General Committee.
A visitor shall be permitted to play at the Club on payment of a fee to be decided by the General Committee. The number of visits shall also be at the discretion of the General Committee.
13. PERSONAL ACCIDENT, LOSS, ETC
The Club will not accept responsibility for injury, loss or damage to persons or property, howsoever caused, sustained on the Club�s premises.
14. ALTERATIONS OF RULES
No alteration or amendment of or addition to these rules shall be made except at a General Meeting, nor unless supported by at least two thirds of the members present and voting at the General Meeting.
